Located in the Fosheim Peninsula,
Ellesmere Island, Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut

Project Scope

Year: 2015–Present
Client: Government of Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada
Project Scope Performed Under: Nuna East Ltd.

The small Eureka base requires rehabilitation of the existing Eureka runway and apron, the construction of a new apron and roads, and other related airport work. Due to the high Arctic remoteness of the project and the fact that the area is never completely free of ice, Nuna East Ltd.’s scope of work is carried out during the spring and summer months over the course of several seasons.
