About Us

Nuna is the largest Inuit-owned heavy civil earthworks and mine construction contractor in Canada.

Our ownership is composed of Kitikmeot Corporation (51%) and Nuna Management Group (49%). Kitikmeot Corporation (KC) is owned by and is the business arm of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association. KC is entrusted to pursue opportunities that build an economic base for all Inuit in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. Nuna qualifies as a “Northern Company” under the Inuit Impact and Benefits Agreements.

Nuna Logistics Limited is a heavy civil construction and contract mining company based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Nuna Group of Companies comprises almost 40 companies, ventures, and partnerships. Entities within the Nuna Group of Companies include Nuna Innovations Inc., which provides innovative products and solutions to the mining industry, and Nuna Training Technologies Ltd., which provides simulator and conventional training services.

Nuna’s experienced professionals and construction group are highly knowledgeable and skilled in dealing with the array of challenges associated with working on remote construction and mine development projects that lack supporting infrastructure. Our 25-year track record of safe, successful, large-scale project delivery has enabled us to develop a strategic team that is instrumental in the detailed planning required for success. With our management strength and supporting systems, our capacity allows us to plan and execute concurrent projects in excess of $150M per project.

Our client base consists of several resource companies whose projects span from smaller public and private civil projects to multi-national, full-scale projects. Our workforce at various times exceeds 800 people working on projects in Canada’s remote north. Nuna has a demonstrated commitment to hiring Indigenous and local people who live in the areas where we do business. In our 2017 fiscal year, we achieved an average of 40.51% Indigenous employment across all projects.

Although Nuna is a project-focused company, we are committed to working with our partners to develop sustainable business opportunities in a safe, profitable, and environmentally conscientious manner.
